Plan your family's meals
by asking for them
mealgrep keeps your recipe box, your week, and a record of what your family actually ate. Connect it to Claude and you can work on all three by typing a sentence, instead of filling in a grid.
Things you can ask
- "What's for dinner on Thursday?"
- "Plan next week from our recipe box. No chicken twice, and keep Friday easy."
- "We ended up ordering Thai instead. Log it — nobody felt like cooking."
- "How many different plants did we eat last week?"
- "Which dishes do I keep planning and never actually make?"
- "Add my mum's dal to the recipe box."
It answers from your own data. It can't invent a recipe you've never put in the box, which is the point — the plan comes out of what your family already eats.
Setting it up
You'll need a mealgrep account and a Claude or ChatGPT account. The connecting part has to happen on a computer, because the phone apps can't add a connector. Once it's connected it works everywhere, phone included.
- In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Put in https://mealgrep.com/mcp and leave the other boxes empty.
- Claude sends you to mealgrep to sign in and say yes. Then the tools show up in your chats.
In ChatGPT it's Settings → Apps → Advanced → developer mode, then the same URL. mealgrep speaks the open Model Context Protocol, which both of them use. I've tested Claude properly; ChatGPT should behave the same way, and I'd like to hear about it if it doesn't.
What it can see
Everything you can: your recipes, your plans, your family's settings, and the log of what got eaten. It can change all of it too — that's what makes it useful, and it's worth knowing before you connect.
You can cut it off at any time from Settings → Agents in mealgrep, and access stops immediately. Your recipes, plans and logs only ever go to the assistant you connected. We don't sell them and we don't hand them to anyone else.

Make an account first, then connect it. Confirming your email address takes a minute, so the connecting part usually happens on a second visit.
